C.M JAO and KEN CHEUNG took on an assignment which resulted in the birth of OFT INTERIOR LTD. The duo attribute their success to their innovative mindset and zest to compete to be the best.
“There was a cinema design project approached to us while we were thinking to have our own company, it was an exciting project because of the clients’ background, we thought it was interesting, challenging and somehow like the case for me and my partner, by having a new brand with two parties,” says C.M. Jao, co-founder of Oft Interiors Ltd.

Credited with proving thoughtful, user-friendly and pragmatic designs, the company has carved a niche for itself and won the respect of the market and trade alike.
“We focus on cinema design projects throughout these 3 years while the demand for this kind of entertainment space has surprisingly grown in China. We served different clients from Hong Kong and China, traditional cinemas operator also newcomers from the market,” says co-founder Ken Cheung.

Build to Scale
Oft mostly deals with entertainment and commercial projects. “We aim to provide professional service for both client-side and customer-side, which means we need to think both ways for every design, not only for the end users,” Cheung explains.

Jao says, “there are good interior design firms in Hong Kong and the market is small, but we gained the trust of our clients by showing our varieties and versatility of our design styles. Step by step, we grew from two, just me and Ken, to 10 in three and a half years.
“We respect and treasure every colleague in our office, which we truly think this is important. After all there is no secret to success. We work hard and play hard.”
