Embracing quality, sustainability and best business practices, MAJESTIC ENGINEERING COMPANY LTD is setting new industry-leading standards.

Thomas Soon

Majestic Engineering Company Ltd is one of the wholly owned subsidiaries of E&M companies of FSE Engineering Holdings Ltd (a listed company in HKEX, Stock Code 331). The group’s history spans more than 40 years. In the early 70s, the group established various companies to undertake the electrical and mechanical (E&M) works for New World Centre at Tsim Sha Tsui – one of the largest and landmark developments in the Kowloon peninsula, Hong Kong.

“Whilst the group continued in pioneering E&M contracting business in Hong Kong, we emerged into other economic takeoff regions including the greater China, Macau and South East Asia, says Thomas Soon, director and general manager of Majestic Engineering Co. Ltd.

“The group gradually developed into different scopes of business which include E&M maintenance, environmental services and building material trading.

In Dec 2015, the group was successfully listed on the Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange, marking the new era of our history.”

China Focus

With the economic takeoff of the greater China in the 80s, many major Hong Kong property developers and foreign investors invested developments in China, primarily in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.

“We started our operation in great China in 1982 focusing on providing E&M contracting. We rapidly expanded our presence from these two core bases to other first- and second-tier cities such as Tianjin, Dalian, Shenyan, Chengdu, Wuhan, Changsha and Nanjing.

In the last decade, we expanded our services, in addition to E&M contracting, to cover E&M project management providing expertise and management to the developer in terms of detailed design development, buildability and construction management,” says Thomas.

High Standards

“We are one of the very few E&M companies listed in Hong Kong Stock Exchange. With over 40 years of industry experience, we have been maintaining a very high standard of corporate governance where not only shareholders’ interest is safeguarded but corporate value is continuously enhanced.”

“Our companies hold a full range of licences and qualifications in E&M contracting in HK and the greater China. We have two separate divisions: Building Information Modelling (BIM) division and Design and Coordination division. BIM division provides E&M information modeling for design, construction and future facility management and maintenance use. Design and Coordination division provides integrated E&M design and services coordination for design and construction use.

“We are thus above other competitors, highly competent in large-scale and complex projects in both private and public sectors, and especially in design and construction of public capital works, hospitals and district cooling plant.”

Adding Value

“We always strive to provide the best integrated solution in E&M installation above specification design requirement laid down by the customer. Our integrated E&M solution combines (i) selection of most suitable equipment and material in latest application (ii) design optimization (iii) spatial coordination of the works and (iv) comprehensive testing and commissioning. Our E&M systems are guaranteed at maximum performance, energy efficient and maintenance barrier-free,” he explains.

“The customer’s products are also greener, because we commit to create a greener society. We incorporate green building principles into application of building services equipment; and adopt green building design, modularization and prefabrication to reduce energy usage, carbon emissions and construction wastes.”

Growth Assured

“We will continuously seek acquisition opportunities and engage competent professional talent to explore new market opportunities and expand geographical coverage in Hong Kong, Macau and the PRC.

“The new environmental and Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) divisions have successfully secured several contracts. We expect that the environmental and ELV system can complement the work of the E&M engineering segment and generate additional income to the Group.”

Asked what his success secrets are, he says; “A strong shareholder background supported by a healthy balance sheet, a well-experienced and stable management team with expertise and proven track record, backed up by a variety of extensive partners consisting of over 1,000 suppliers and 350 subcontractors and our plan to continuously strive for higher standards of environment, social and corporate governance.”
