Established in 1971, the Four Seas Group has been committed to introducing quality snacks to the market and bringing in more variety of food items to the consumers<\/p>\n

\u201cHong Kong market is consolidating with the wide acceptance of Japanese snacks by Hong Kong consumers,\u201d says its chairman, Stephen, Tai Tak Fung.<\/p>\n

\u201cFood items such as potato chip, cracker, confectionery, cake, chocolate, cheese, rice cracker and gift boxes have become the favourite food items of Hong Kong consumers,\u201d Tai says.<\/p>\n

The Group provides various food items from more than 20 countries through its strong distribution network that covers department stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, fast food restaurants, distributors, retailers, restaurants, bars, hotels and airlines.<\/p>\n

Starting from 2019, the Group has been promoting Japanese ice-cream in full force. Japanese ice-cream fits well into Hong Kong and Mainland China market as it has a variety of tasty products.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Quality Before All<\/h3>\n

The Group has 18 factory premises in Hong Kong and Mainland China, producing a range of unique food products. With stringent quality controls and modern monitoring systems of production, the Group has strengthened customers\u2019 trust by complying with international standards and receiving numerous accreditations, such as \u201cHACCP\u201d, \u201cISO 9001\u201d, \u201cISO 22000\u201d, \u201cGMP certificate\u201d, \u201cCertification under Hong Kong Q-Mark Product Scheme for over 30 years\u201d and \u201cHKQAA Hong Kong Registration \u2013 Cooking Oil Registration Scheme Certification\u201d from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an industry leader, the Group is committed to bringing all kinds of great food from around the world and offering delicious and high-quality food products. The Group\u2019s business activities cover different areas, from food distribution, production, retail and catering services to the establishment of its own brand, with the mission of providing innovative snacks. Through its retail arm \u2018Okashi Land\u2019, the Group has been introducing quality brands, of which Japanese snacks have already become the favourites of Hong Kong consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Growth Plans<\/h3>\n

This year, various Japanese ice-cream brands have been introduced to Hong Kong, including \u201cMEIJI\u201d, \u201cLOTTE\u201d, \u201cGLICO\u201d, \u201cIMURAYA\u201d, \u201cSEIKA\u201d and \u201cBLUE SEAL\u201d, a well-known ice-cream brand in Okinawa, as well as other delicious ice-creams from different parts of Japan through its wide distribution network.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile striving for business growth in local market, the Group is fueling the future by actively exploring the high-potential food market in Mainland China.\u00a0 <\/span>Apart from import, export and e-commerce of international food products, the Group also leverages the self-owned factory premises in Mainland China to boost its own \u2018Four Seas\u2019 brand. The own-branded products are well-received by consumers and the sales network is spread widely across Mainland China,\u201d Tai explains.<\/p>\n

CSR Initiatives!<\/h3>\n

\u201cWe understand the importance of the link between climate change impacts and energy consumption. We maintain our recycling practices and relationships. Group-wide efforts have contributed towards recycling an overall 46% of the total waste. The recycled waste includes paper\/cardboard, glass, food\/kitchen waste, waste oil, plastic, toner and ink cartridges, and other recycling. The Group, has achieved an overall decreasing trend of electricity consumption reduction in the year,\u201d explains Tai.<\/p>\n

He adds: \u201cWithin factory premises, motion sensor systems have been installed to control lighting, and timers installed on air conditioning apparatus, in low-use areas such as aisles, changing rooms and decontamination rooms, saving just under 50,000 kWh of electricity per annum.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the winter, a subsidiary takes advantage of utilising the exterior cold air to maintain freezing temperatures in the fresh chestnut storage warehouse, resulting in a savings of 10,000 kWh of electricity per season.<\/p>\n

\u201cA facility\u2019s wastewater treatment system has been upgraded to increase its capacity by three times. Membrane bioreactor technology has also been implemented for enhancing treatment performance. The new system operates in compliance with Guangdong Province\u2019s wastewater quality discharge limits. Our vision of progress is multifold. Growth, for us, means progressing on all fronts equally.\u201d<\/p>\n
