In an era where healthcare and financial security are increasingly intertwined, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Health Planners (ICHP) stands out as a pioneering force in bridging the gap between medical knowledge and insurance expertise.

Registered with the Hong Kong Government and in collaboration with Hang Seng University, Institute of Knowledge Exchange (IKE), ICHP is redefining professionalism in the insurance sector by equipping insurance agents with the knowledge to become trusted advisors in both health and wealth management.

Dr. François Fong, Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Health Planners

“We established ICHP to address a critical industry gap; while Hong Kong boasts over 100,000 insurance practitioners, few possess formal medical training. This disconnect limits agents’ ability to guide clients through complex healthcare systems or assess risks tied to medical conditions. ICHP’s Foundation Course tackles this challenge head-on with a curriculum designed by multidisciplinary experts. Our program blends practical insights into Hong Kong’s healthcare infrastructure, disease management, insurance product analysis, and even the interpretation of medical reports—ensuring graduates offer holistic, informed advice,” says Dr. François Fong, Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Health Planners.
The ICHP Foundation Course condenses 12 hours of intensive training into a single weekend, culminating in two certificates, one awarded by Hang Seng University, Institute of Knowledge Exchange (IKE) and a second certificate issued by the ICHP.  These two certificates confirm both the rigour of the content and the industry relevance. Graduates will emerge as Certified Health Planners (CHPs), a credential designed to become an industry benchmark. Beyond passing exams, CHPs gain skills to navigate public and private healthcare systems, interpret lab results, and balance clients’ health and financial needs—a rare competency in today’s market.
